Loss and Bereavement

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is a response to something that mattered deeply. And yet, there is often pressure to move through it quickly, to return to normal, to show that you are coping.

The truth is that grief does not follow a schedule. It arrives in waves. Some days are manageable, and others feel impossible. And when the people around you have moved on, you may find yourself carrying something heavy with nowhere to put it.

How Therapy Supports the Grieving Process

Therapy for loss is not about finding closure. It is about having a space where your grief is witnessed without being judged or hurried. Prof Knight provides that space.

In psychodynamic therapy, grief is understood in the context of the relationship you had with the person you lost, the meaning they held in your life, and the parts of yourself that may feel altered by their absence. Therapy allows these dimensions to be explored with care and depth.

Who Is This For?

This service is for anyone navigating loss. That includes the death of a loved one, but it also extends to other forms of significant loss: the end of a relationship, the loss of health, the loss of identity or purpose. There is no hierarchy of grief. If the loss affects you, it belongs here.

What to Expect

Sessions take place at the N.H.C Health Centre in Honeydew. There is no right way to grieve, and there is no expectation to arrive ready to talk about anything specific. Prof Knight meets you where you are.
